Raymond W. Stiles & Associates was founded in 1974, by Raymond W. Stiles, who, in 1965, started in the Life Insurance business right out of college, with a major life insurance company. In his first year he was a Certified Applicant for the Million Dollar Round Table, and in his second year, became a Qualified Member of the MDRT. In 1968 ,he became the youngest General Agent, to that date, appointed by the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co., and became their General Agent for the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. In his first year, his agency received the company's President's Award, followed with the company's Master Agency Award. Mr. Stiles headed up a pilot program for Penn Mutual for two years in Lawrence, Kansas. Due to a family illness, in 1974, Mr. Stiles returned to Hampton Roads and formed Raymond W. Stiles & Associates. This agency soon had offices in Norfolk, and Newport News VA, as well as, Annapolis, MD, Philadelphia, PA, and Myrtle Beach, SC. In 1980, Mr. Stiles, consolidated his operations to strictly the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, and Eastern NC, and added Property and Casualty Insurance to their product line, focusing on religious institutions, and commercial lines, and still provides Life & health insurance through various outlets. Today, with offices in Virginia Beach, the Stiles Agency is one of the leading insurance agencies in Virginia specializing in the Religious Marketplace. Churches, Schools, Daycare Centers, Colleges & Seminaries are their areas of expertise. Coverage for Business Auto insurance, D&O, Employee Practices, Storefront Community Churches, and Flood Insurance are also available.
